The Global Future: Issues and Trends for the 21st Century

Founded in 2005, the Asia Association for Global Studies (AAGS) is a
professional organization for scholars and educators in Asia who are interested
in and actively contribute to the development of global studies as a research
and teaching field. Its primary focus is on Asia's changing international
status and the impact of globalization on Asia, though it also supports work by
members on other themes and world regions.

The Asia Association for Global Studies (AAGS) announces the theme, date and
place of its 2011 international conference. This year's theme is The Global
Future: Issues and Trends for the 21st Century. The organizing committee
invites paper proposals on the following themes:

* futurology
* technology and society
* the global economy
* inequality
* human rights
* ethics - consumerism
* political/religious ideologies
* globalization and culture
* cosmopolitanism
* health and disease
* crime
* conflict and war
